Club Med have released figures revealing that Winter 2017/2018 season sales are currently up by  31% year on year. The growth comes on top of what the company described as, “a hugely successful 2016” when sales grew 10% year on year.

The French-run but now Chinese-owned holiday company which operates its own ski villages at dozens of resorts in Europe and, increasingly, Asia, will open two more resorts this winter; Club Med Grand Massif Samoens Morillon opening in France next month, followed by Club Med Tomamu, in Japan in December.

Breaking down the 31% leap in sales, Club Med say that March 2018 is the most popular month for winter holidays, with sales up 52% compared to March whilst December bookings have increased by 31%.

They also revealed that French destinations continue to prove most popular among British skiers with Val d’Isere  the most popular destination, with sales up 62% compared to last year –  closely followed by  a 47% increase in bookings for Avoriaz, 41% increase for Tignes and 40% for Cervinia in Italy.

The new 423-room 4-trident Club Med Grand Massif Samoëns Morillon is the single biggest new hotel opening in the French Alps. The new resort  has been designed to blend in harmoniously with nature and features an art studio amongst a vast range of activities for all the family, which also includes two swimming pools and a spa by Carita (Paris).

The second new Club Med will be at Tomamu in Japan which has 29.5km of slopes.

Explaining the jump in sales, Estelle Giraudeau, Managing Director, Club Med UK and Scandinavia says she believes that skiers see the value in the all-inclusive ski holidays the company offer with everything included and paid for upfront, commenting.

“This also protects customers against ever-fluctuating exchange rates and hidden costs with the simple security of a low deposit. Therefore, we continue to be extremely proud of our unique all-inclusive ski offering and our year on year results continue to show how our clients value the exclusive experience we provide on the slopes during the winter season.”
