British snowboarder Sascha Hamm took the second place at the first stop of the 2014 Freeride World Tour (FWT) in Courmayeur.

It was Sascha’s first time in a FWT event, which is sponsored by Swatch and The North Face, having qualified via the Freeride World Tour Qualifier (FWQ) system.

“I am glad that I got to take my run before the skiers. The snow conditions were amazing! I had a blast doing rocks, and riding fluffy snow,” said 37 years old Sascha, who works in central London as an investment property consultant from Monday to Thursday, and flies every Thursday night to the Alps to go riding and take part in competitions,

“I ended up taking a completely different line than I had planned, and everything went well until a light slam at the finish line. At the next event I will concentrate more on the finish line.”
