Andorra Snow Report and Forecast 28 December 2017

STORY BY 28th December 2017

Our Andorra Snow Report and Forecast 28 December 2017 is the final report of 2017 and boy, is it a good one, with a great amount of snow.

The Grandvalira area (pictured above) had a fantastic Christmas period, with beautiful blue skies and sunshine allowing for some great skiing. However, the snow has definitely returned since then, with significant snowfall across the area. The below video was taken yesterday in Soldeu.

This snow will continue throughout today and tomorrow, easing off as we approach the weekend. Sunshine and some cloud will be interspersed with light snow showers through the weekend and into the start of next week, so skiers will be able to make the most of this awesome snowfall.

Meanwhile in the Vallnord area, recent snowfall has left some great powder, which is offering skiers a lot of fun off piste. Always remember to be careful when heading off piste though, with heavy snowfall, chances of an avalanche increase. The avalanche risk in the Vallnord area at the moment is 3, which means chances of an avalanche are considerable so make sure you’re well aware, prepared and educated.

As we approach the weekend, this may change somewhat. Though there is more snow forecast today, the temperatures are set to rise and from tomorrow (Friday) we will see warmer temperatures (max. 6 degrees). This will bring rain as well as a few light snow showers as we enter the new year.
