Born and raised in Hong Kong, Alexander Glavatsky-Yeadon is a British freestyle skier, specialising in the Halfpipe.
Glavatsky-Yeadon has a family history of skiing success – his grandfather was an Olympic ski jumper – so it’s unsurprising that he too developed a love for the slopes. Growing up with a passion for surfing and skateboarding, Glavatsky-Yeadon skied recreationally with his family but always dreamt of pursuing it as a career.
In 2011, while studying at Millfield school Somerset, he was granted time off school to compete and train, which obviously paid off! With British parentage and schooling, Alexander has joined Team GB for PyeongChang 2018, bringing his own creative style and substance to the Halfpipe team.
He is known for the huge height he achieves coming out of the pipe and has had some good successes since entering the competetive scene, twice coming second in British Halfpipe Championships and placing 20th at the World Cup test event in PyeongChang.

In December 2017 he recorded a World Cup career-best result of eighth at the Secret Garden halfpipe competition in China.
Glavatsky-Yeadon is currently finishing his degree in Fashion and graphic design, whilst focusing on his fashion label, ‘Saint Valais’ as well as his skiing. Some say style of skiing reflects his creative and artistic background and we can’t wait to see what he brings to the table in PyeongChang.
