Team GB’s Zoe Atkin delivered a fifth medal for TeamGB on the final day of the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics, securing bronze in the Olympic Freeski Halfpipe competition, adding another chapter to a remarkable family legacy on the world stage.
The 21‑year‑old Brit set the early benchmark with a commanding first run that briefly put her at the top of the standings. Her amplitude and control lit up the pipe and signalled she was a genuine contender for gold. But as the competition tightened, two rivals ultimately edged ahead with higher‑scoring second and third runs, nudging Atkin into third place by the final tally.
Even so, her bronze marks a milestone moment, not only for British freeskiing, but for the Atkin family. Her older sister, Izzy, famously became Britain’s first-ever Olympic medallist to hold onto her medal in skiing after winning bronze in slopestyle at PyeongChang in South Korea eight years ago.
