A new 1400m long zip wire has been announced for the 4 Valleys in Switzerland.
The cable will run from Mont-Fort at 3332 metres above sea level down to the Col des Gentianes 2900 metres above sea level.
The project will cost around 750,000 Swiss francs and is expected to be completed by the autumn. It is seen as a key attraction in a long running plan to make Mont-Fort more of a year round attraction.
It is being financed in a partnership between Verbier and Nendaz-Veysonnaz ski lift companies who have already carried out studies to take into account the solidity of the rock and permafrost before deciding to go ahead, they say.
