The cost of a six-day adult lift pass at some of the world’s largest ski areas is creeping closer to the 300 euros (£255) mark this winter 2016/17.

The price of the Mont Blanc Unlimited pass for the wider region around Chamonix has increased from 293 euros (£250) last winter to 299 euros (£255) this winter, although officially it now also includes the Megève area, taking coverage to around 1000km with Courmayeur and Verbier still included too.

The Paradiski area, which is also one of the world’s three biggest, will charge €298 (254) for a ticket this winter and the world’s largest lift-linked ski area, Les 3 Vallées, will charge a headline rate of 294 euros (£250) for a six-day pass. It’s cheaper if two or three adults buy the same pass at the same time, and both passes offer family savings and about 20% discounts for children aged 5 to 12.

It can be cheaper to buy the passes outside the main season and it also remains possible to buy tickets for individual areas rather than the full pass coverage, often at savings of 20–40%.
