> ALTITUDE COMEDY FESTIVAL
Join some of the biggest names in UK comedy: John Bishop, Marcus Brigstocke, and Daniel Sloss, for a week of high altitude giggles. The now established Altitude Festival takes place in Mayrhofen, and offers a more relaxed alternative for those seeking spring skiing combined with evening entertainment, and a whole lot of laughs. But for those wanting to party they won’t be disappointed – the festival takes place in the home of après-ski, Austria.

> SNOWBOMBING
There is no festival that can match Snowbombing, and there are few resorts that can rival Mayrhofen when it comes to a party. A perennial favourite of Alpine partygoers, this year sees The Prodigy headline the festival, joined by the likes of Chase and Status, Rudimental, and The Chemical Brothers. If there is one ski festival you have to experience at least once, it’s Snowbombing.
7–12 April
> ELECTRIC MOUNTAIN FESTIVAL
The setting for the thud of euphoric beats reverberating around the mountains this spring is Sölden, “the hot spot of the Alps”. The Electric Mountain Festival finale takes place at 1.30pm on the Wednesday and Thursday, and at 4pm on the Friday. The finale schedule is yet to be released, but expect big beats from whatever acts are chosen.

> TOP OF THE MOUNTAIN CONCERT
Famed for its all-star opening and closing concerts, Robbie Williams will this year take to the high altitude stage in Ischgl to round off the season. A 30,000-strong crowd is anticipated to travel up 2300m to party along with the pop sensation. After the gig, head down to the resort – the party capital of the Alps – for a night like no other.

> THE WHITE THRILL
This demanding ski race, which takes place on the mountains above St Anton, has earned cult status, with both participants and spectators, and is fully booked well in advance each year. Around 500 participants charge down the 1300m unprepared slope, from the Vallugagrat Ridge to the valley, in what is known as The White Thrill race. En-route, they must unbuckle their skis, and battle with a 150m ascent, before clipping back into their skis, and racing towards the finish line. At the end of the 9km race, all that counts is getting over that finish line!
