The Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour is back in the UK and Ireland this winter and spring with its biggest run yet with 56 screenings at 40 venues 30 January to 10 May 2014. These are just part of the global tour to some 400 venues in 40 countries.
The films are not from Banff but are the winners from 360 films submitted to the Festival in Banff last November including climbing, alpinism, mountain biking, adventure travel, skiing, kayaking and, new this year, base-jumping, surfing and trail running.
The showings are not just film shows either as they bring repeat visitors every year and inspire participation in the activities. Around 28,000 people are expected to attend the tour this year, up from 18,500 in 2013.
