The ski season is winding down in Italy with most ski areas now closed for winter 17-18, but several dozen are still open for a week or two more and some in to May.

There’s not been much fresh snow this week, but even though it may be heading towards mid-April there’s now lots of fresh snow in the forecast with some Italian areas expected to get up to a metre of snow!

Welcome in Val Gardena

Madonna di Campiglio is one of the areas where up to 40cm of snow is forecast over the next few days.  It’s due to stay open another week until the 15th.

In the Dolomites most ski areas closed at the weekend but San Martino is open until next weekend and Cortina keeps some slopes open to the start of May.

Cervinia – which is open to the start of May – continues to have one of the deepest bases in Italy at 2 – 4 metres.
