Where to Ski or Board in Italy in May 2018

Italy’s winter season comes to an end in the first week of May.  Of the still-open choices, Cortina d’Ampezzo, Livigno and Passo Tonale are due to close on Tuesday, May 1st.

That leaves Cervinia – currently with some of the best snow depths in the country at around 4 metres and another glacier resort, Val Senales (Schnalstal), staying open until the end of Sunday, May 6th.

Cervinia will however then open weekends through May, fin ally calling it a day for a few weeks until their summer season starts, at the end of the ski day on the 27th.

Italy’s summer ski season will kick off earlier than France’s however, later this month, when Passo Stelvio is scheduled to re-open on the 26th for its season right through to late autumn, snow permitting.
