With the Brexit transition period coming to an end soon and little clarity over what deal will be done, there’s a serious threat looming for 25,000 seasonal workers in the ski industry that could potentially lose their jobs.
SBiT (Seasonal Business in Travel) has launched a petition to ask the government to pay attention to this issue and protect the future of jobs for thousands of people, many of them young and just starting their careers.
Rob Stewart caught up with three of the UK’s most well-known figures, Graham Bell, Ed Leigh and Emily Sarsfield, to get their take on why saving these jobs is crucial, especially for those that might not be able to access snowsports without the opportunities that working in the industry bring.
