Val d’Isère Goes Golf Crazy

Val d’Isère will run a golf-themed celebration next week from 22nd-26th March 2017.  It’s the fifth time a golf-on-snow festival has been staged at the resort and this spring’s event looks set to be the biggest yet.

Winter Golf was invented seventeen years ago by golf enthusiast Philippe Guilhem and this “crazy idea” has today developed in to an international golf tournament played in resorts including Megéve, Crans-Montana, Aspen and d’Isère.

The special winter golfing festival will include a fun golf tournament on snow in partnership with BMW and the Ryder Cup, featuring two days of free play (open to everyone) on a specially built 9 hole course in the Manchet Valley.

There will also be ‘street golf’ on the snow front and in the village itself at 5.30pm opn the Thursday evening.

There’ll also be a France vs UK challenge, sponsored by the Ryder Cup, a match play competition between captains of industry, celebrities and key golfing figures from both countries on the Friday.

The event will conclude with a two day BMW Winter Golf Cup Challenge, with two rounds, at the weekend.
