A ski area in the US has put a season pass on sale at a very low price for teachers.

The ticket, issued by Angel Fire resort in New Mexico, currently costs $99 (approximately £75) as an introductory offer, and will rise to $199 in September.

It is valid all season with no blackout dates so teachers who are usually restricted to travel at the  most expensive school holiday periods of the season, can use it then too. The Pass pays for itself after just two days of skiing.

“The Teacher Pass is designed to thank educators for the work they do with students and to make skiing easier and offer more value for teachers and their families during the ski season,” said Angel Fire Resort Marketing Director Greg Ralph, adding, “The game-changing pass is a first of its kind in the industry as it is the first discounted season pass that has been offered exclusively for today’s educators.”

The resort launched the 19-20 Teacher Pass during ‘Teacher Appreciation Week’ in the US.

“We pride ourselves on being one of the most family-friendly resorts in the Rockies. Along with focusing on the kids who come to ski our mountains we also want to encourage the passion for the sport of skiing and snowboarding to those who are doing so much for these students,” Ralph said.

The Teacher Pass can be purchased online but teachers will need to present their ID and a current pay stub from a school anywhere in the US to validate the pass on their first day of use.

Angel Fire Resort’s winter season is Dec. 13, 2019 through March 22, 2020.
