The past 48 hours have been one of those rare periods with snow reported in almost every continent.

In the northern hemisphere, where summer is in full swing, heavy snow at altitude (above around 2500m) has been reported on both sides of the Atlantic.

In the Austrian Alps the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier has reported 30cm o snow in the last 24 hours generating a ‘powder alarm’ in July.

In North Western North America there’s been significant snowfall on higher mountains with Jackson Hole posting pictures of sunflowers under snow.

In South America, after an unseasonably warm dry spell a huge snowfall is now hitting the Andes.

Across the Pacific Australia has had plenty of snow in the past few weeks but New Zealand had been suffering like the Andes, however things have changed there too with 15cm of snow in the last 24 hours and as much again expected in the next 24 hours.
