There’s been no news snow in Italy this week – not a problem in the alps to the West where there has been plenty of snow all winter, but more of a challenge in some parts of the Dolomites where the cover is thin after, sadly, very little snow all season.

A good number of ski areas in Western Italy have over 2m/7 feet of snow lying on upper runs now and most of the country’s areas look good to remain operational through to the end of the season without any snow cover issues.
The good news is that snow is expected to start falling across most of Italy’s ski areas from Sunday and if longer term forecasts prove correct, the start of spring could be the snowiest of the season so far at some areas. But just remember that’s an ‘if’ !
