It has been a largely snowless week in France and that looks set to continue until the weekend when, if forecasts are correct, resorts can expect another 30-50cm of snow as we enter spring.

Most French resorts are, however, in quite good shape in terms of snow depth, lower resorts typically have 50-150cm bases, the purpose-built altitude resorts more like 1-2.5m, so they’ll all looking good through to the end of the season in a month or two’s time, depending on which resort you’re looking at.

Snow conditions are ‘spring like’ which generally means the snow is better earlier in the day and higher up, lower elevation ski areas tend to get stickier snow, sooner during the day.
