Where To Ski or Snowboard in North America During September 2017

If you want to go summer skiing in North America in September you’ll have to move fast.

Only one ski area is currently open on the continent and it’s planning to end its 11 month 2016-17 ski season after the Labor Day holiday on Monday, September 4th.

So only four days of lift served skiing or boarding is available in North America during September – it’s Timberline Lodge’s snowfield on Mt Hood in Oregon that you need to get to.

The good news is that despite the summer heat, all the snow that fell at Timberline last winter means conditions are the best they’ve been for some years.

In October the first ski areas should start to open for winter 17-18.  Arapahoe Basin in Colorado opened in October last year.
