It has been snowy in parts of France but not others over the past week.

The main beneficiaries have been higher slopes in the northern French Alps, more widespread resorts in the southern French Alps, and once again the French Pyrenees where Cauterets (pictured top) reported the biggest single snowfall of the week – 50cm in 24 hours!  Not bad for April…

In the more northerly Alps Tignes and Val d’Isere goth the biggest snowfalls on Sunday and Monday, adding up to around 30cm/a foot of fresh snow.  Chamonix and Val Thorens also reported 20cm or so of new snow on their higher slopes. In the southern Alps there were similar falls at Isola 2000.

Finally got to check out the Pipe ground in Avoriaz and it's INSANE ? Here is a top to bottom on one of the hudnred possible lines in this giant feature ? VÖLKL DAKINE Oakley GoPro – filmed by AB Photo

Most French resorts are in good shape for the remaining weeks of the season with 1-2m of cover on upper runs.
