Where to Ski or Board in France As We Enter February 2017

French ski areas in the Alps have had another cold but sunny week allowing skiers and boarders in the mountains at present the chance to enjoy all the snow that fell over the previous two weeks.

In the Pyrenees it has been a little different with the snow still falling until mid-week in copious volumes leading to powder conditions here still.  One area in the region, Cauterets, continues to claim the deepest snow base in France at 10m/3 feet.

All the leading French ski areas are now posting healthy snow depths, mostly of 1-2 metres (3-7 feet) on upper slopes with several feet down in resort too.

Conditions are expected to stay mostly sunny and cold (if not as cold as previously) for the week ahead but may warm up a little and become more unsettled by the weekend.
