It’s back to the usual highs and lows of the ski nation that is Scotland.

Its not often that Glencoe Mountain Resort gets opened before Christmas, but with the runs complete on the lower half of the mountain, hundreds of people headed up Meall A'Bhuiridh.

But a dramatic rise in temperature since Monday has transformed white slopes to brown and patchy and most areas are closed again until the temperature dips and more snow arrives – hopefully in the next week.

Both The Lecht and Cairngorm now have SnowFactory all weather snowmaking units in place and Cairngorm say the trial is going well, producing snow at +8C today for ski lessons.
