Scotland Snow Report and Forecast 11 March 2018

11 Mar 18

Conditions continue to be pretty good across Scotland with 5 – 10cm of fresh snow reported at the five Highland ski areas over the past week.

It’s been fairly dry otherwise, the main issue at times being hill cloud and fog limiting visibility, but otherwise all centres are open with bases at around 60cm (two feet).

There was an exception at Cairngorm on Saturday when rain in the valley fell as snow on the summit and blocked the funicular railway eventually leading to the centre’s early closure for the day.

Currently all five centres have at least half their runs open and most have 80-100% of their trails open.

There is a sign that temperatures and finally starting to rise and are getting above zero in the afternoon but so far the snow is holding.
