Almost all Scottish ski slopes have been closed this past week after the snow from November and December largely thawed away as temperatures hit double figures above freezing.

But not ALL because Cairngorm has its SnowFactory all weather snowmaking operating and it has been cold enough in the past 24 hours to run its regular snow guns too.
Glencoe’s SnowFactory has also been fired up as of today so there should be snow on the dry slope there imminently.
On top of the machine made snow there’s also natural snowfall expected over the next few days and some hope that centres will re-open by early in the New Year.
