Three separate ‘best ski tour operator’ awards have been won by two companies in the latest round of awards ceremonies.
Peak Retreats have returned to the top spot in the 2014 Guardian and Observer Travel Awards, voted for by the newspapers’ readers. Having previously won in 2009, 2010 and 2011 the Portsmouth-based, had come a proud second in 2012 and 2013. The French Alps specialist’s team (some of whom are pictured above) celebrated their triumphant fourth win in six years with a very British fish and chips feast!
Meanwhile the UK’s largest ski tour operator, Crystal Ski, were voted World’s Best Ski Tour Operator 2014 at the World Ski Awards staged in Kitzbuhel, Austria and then also ‘Best Overall Ski & Wintersports Operator’in the 2014 British Travel Awards. Crystal had previously won the award in 2007-2009, 2011 and 2013.
“We thank everybody who voted for us and are delighted to have received this award for the sixth time”, said Crystal managing director Tamsin Todd, who accepted the trophy. “This winter we are launching an industry-leading technology programme that will transform holiday experiences and give our customers a service they can’t find anywhere else. Speaking about Peak Retreats’ win, Managing Director Xavier Schouller said, “We are incredibly proud. It’s a massive honour and a real surprise to win this accolade for a fourth year and perhaps even more rewarding to know that our efforts have been recognised, especially considering how competitive the ski market has become.
