New Quad For Mammoth

08 Nov 11

Visitors to Mammoth (www.mammothmountain.com) in California this winter will enjoy $20m of enhancements to both the mountain and village. The resort benefitted from vast snowfalls last winter, again, and remained open until Independence Day on 4 July.

On-mountain improvements include the installation of a new Doppelmayr high-speed quad chairlift, providing more air time and less chair time. A total of 68 chairs will improve access to one of the mountain’s highest points, and will whisk 2400 people per hour up 325 vertical metres, halving the original ride time.

Mammoth’s Unbound Terrain Parks, ranked number one in North America in some polls, are to have some newly-constructed features and terrain created by resort partners, Oakley and Monster Energy. Currently, riders can also enjoy enhancements to the half pipes at Main and Canyon Lodges, and there’ll be a new snow tube park located just above the village designed for families to enjoy.

Mammoth is expanding their relationship with award-winning company Levy restaurants this year, after a successful start to a partnership last season that saw the first ever ”Roving Mammoth” burrito snowcat. Levy will be offering a resort-wide taste experience on and off the slopes this season.
