The Ski Slopes

Back to Nendaz

Overall a third (33%) of the slopes in the 4 Vallées are rated blue, just over half (53%) red. There are three special areas dedicated just to beginners so that they can learn in the perfect environment without the distraction of experienced skiers whizzing by.

Experts will find 14% of the terrain graded black, as well as seven ski itinerary routes – marked and patrolled but too steep to be groomed – ski runs – known here as Freetracks.

With the lowest point in the 4 Vallées at 1,300m it is one of just a dozen or so ski areas worldwide offering more than 2,000 vertical metres between the top of its highest lift and the bottom of its lowest one for wonderful long descents.
