Providing a great experience for the whole family is central to the Nendaz ethos. The resort makes a focus of affordability for families and having great service and facilities in every resect from accommodation, to dining, to childcare and ski school as well as ensuring there’s lots of extra fun activities to enjoy too. As a result Nendaz has been awarded the “Family Destination Label” to recognise its special efforts and offers in this regard.
On the slopes this means that those looking for gentle runs will love the resort’s three dedicated beginner’s areas. The Tracouet beginners park, located by frozen lake, offers a unique playground where children can securely enjoy their first experience in the snow. It features a simple to use magic carpet lift and another beginners’ lift as well as a fun snowtubing area, a baby-lift and a tire carousel. The lake Bar, located just a few feet away, enables parents to have a rest and enjoy a drink or snack while watching their children have fun in the snow.
In addition there are three snow-kindergartens in Nendaz, one of which, in the village itself, is free, as is the second at Siviez, the third is up at Tracouet on the slopes at 2200m. For young children there’s also a playpark in the village.
Family activities available also include a sledging run, an ice rink and a snowshoe walking route. There are lots of winter hiking routes especially suited to children, with two of them even incorporating treasure hunts for extra fun. Some of these walks can also be taken pushing a buggy.
If it’s high adrenaline your family craves, the recently installed zipline down from Mont Fort offer 1400m of descent during which you’ll reach speeds of over 100km/h (63mph) through the air!
Off the slopes the fabulous 2,200m2 Spa des Bisses not only has every relaxation and treatment an adult could wish for but also a section dedicated to children!
