Laura Hamilton, presenter of Channel 4’s hit TV show ‘A Place in the Sun’, travelled to Morzine last week for a family holiday with the wonderful Elevation Alps. She gives us a fantastic Morzine snow report from Saturday 27th January, which signals some great conditions for the week ahead.

Over the past week, Les Portes du Soleil area has been experiencing some wonderful skiing conditions with beautiful sunshine and blue skies to make it that little bit more enjoyable. With great snow coverage both on and off piste, the skiing in the area is really brilliant. Though this week has not seen the incredible levels of snow that some of the past weeks have in the French Alps, a small dusting of snow over the weekend helped keep the slopes nicely topped up.

The forecast for the week ahead is for even more snow, although not so much as in past weeks, which is good news for anyone heading out to the area. Around 15cm are forecast tonight, alongside another 7cm tomorrow morning. Another 20cm or so should fall between Friday afternoon and Sunday evening, with temperatures remaining very cold. Temperatures will average at around -6 degrees, hitting lows of -12 (with wind chill) on Monday evening.
