Things have turned snowy at last at Mammoth in California, with the resort reporting two feet (60cm) of snowfall in the past week – more than any other major resort in its region.
Base depths have jumped to 1-2 metres as a result and it continues to claim the most terrain open in the US, with over 1000 hectares of skiable slopes open.

So not so snowy as a year ago during the resort’s record breaking January 2017 snowfalls which ended with a 9.6m (32 foot) base (there’s still time!), but still pretty good and certainly the best its been since November.
