Ski holiday company Inghams have put some ski holidays not due to start for two years on sale already, in what is believed to be one of the longest ever advanced ski holiday sales.

The holidays concerned are the company’s 2022/23 week-long Lapland Holidays to the ski resorts of Levi, Ylläs and Saariselkä in Finland.

The company says the decision to start taking bookings for Winter 2022/23 so early came after their 2021/22 programme for next winter began selling so rapidly, that they added further dates to keep up with demand back in December. But they say bookings to visit the snow blanketed Lapland deep inside the Arctic Circle have continued to surge post-Christmas.

“Over half of Inghams winter 2021 programme has already sold, and more specifically, 84% of our 2021 Inghams Lapland programme is full,” Inghams CEO, Joe Ponte explained, adding, “For many people, a trip to Lapland is the perfect antidote following the events of the past year and we’re looking forward to helping our customers create cherished holiday memories there again, when it is safe to do so.”

Besides skiing and boarding, Inghams Lapland holidays give families, friends, and solo travellers the chance to stay in a thermal glass igloo and watch the Northern Lights , ride in a reindeer or husky-drawn sleigh, go snowmobiling or meet Santa in his hideaway. The company has also put its 3 or 4-night Santa breaks on sale.

For 2022/23, the Lapland trips are currently available with departures from 27 November 2022 until 12 February 2023.
