Own Your Own Home In One Of The World’s Biggest Ski Areas

A very rare opportunity has come up to purchase a Swiss ski chalet that has been owned by the same people who had it built back in 1985.

Own Your Own Home In One Of The World’s Biggest Ski Areas

Chalet La Siala in the cosy village of Morgins, right on the French border and just 90 minutes from Geneva Airport, is located in the incredible Portes du Soleil ski region. This is one of the world’s three largest ski areas with some 600km of ski runs for all ability levels. The hundreds of ski runs and lifts interlink world-famous resorts like Avoriaz, Châtel, Morzine, Champéry and Les Gets, as well as small villages where you won’t find crowds or queues and instead quickly begin to feel like a local, like Morgins.

Chalet La Siala has three bedrooms, two with double beds and one with a bunk bed. They all have built-in wardrobes and the front two bedrooms have double doors leading onto separate balconies. There is a bathroom with full-size bath, basin and WC and a separate shower room also with basin and WC. Downstairs there’s a dining area and kitchen and at the lower level a sitting area with a fireplace, hall and a large built-in cupboard, and there is a separate garage on the next level down. So all you need for your holiday, to use as a holiday rental, or just to move in for good yourself.

With nearly 300 separate ski runs and endless off-piste opportunities in between, the Portes du Soleil has enough skiing to keep you entertained for a whole season, in fact probably a lifetime. After a while though, you may wish to try other areas, and basing yourself in Morgins means it’s a quick and easy day trip to plenty of other world-class resorts nearby. Verbier, Leysin, Villars and Les Diablerets are all within an hour’s drive, for example.

It’s also worth thinking about all the other attractions in the area beyond skiing, and indeed outside the ski season. In the summer there are almost limitless possibilities for hiking, and the Portes du Soleil has developed into a major mountain biking area in recent years. There are also lots of activities on your doorstep in Morgins and surrounding villages too, such as swimming, tennis and horse riding, and the Lake of Geneva is only a short distance away.
