This Black Crows Corvus Ski Review comes from ISPO 2018, where we got to take a look at the new Black Crows offerings for the 2018/19 season.

This is the 4th generation of the Black Crows Corvus ski, which has proved a very popular big mountain model for the Chamonix-based brand. However, it has been completely redesigned for the 2018/19 winter season and we are really excited to try it for ourselves. If the specifications are anything to go by, anyone using this ski next year is in for a treat.

At 107mm underfoot, the redesigned Corvus is a classic freeride ski, made to enjoy and conquer the backcountry. Two titanal plates run throughout the ski, keeping it really stiff and powerful, perfect for serious freeriding. However this ski still remains playful, with reverse camber on the top and a slight rocker, it’s the ultimate freeride ski. You can enjoy yourself to your heart’s content in fresh snow, while also maintaining a lot of control and power when conditions get a little tougher.

Technical details

  • Big width: 107mm waist
  • Reverse camber, flat surface in the middle of the ski: plenty of pivot + very powerful grip

  • The flex is solid underfoot
  • Semi cap construction
  • Poplar core
  • Double titanal plates: stability + precision
  • Weight: 3.9kg/pair @ 183cm
