As Seen In Our Buyer’s Guide Video

If you have watched our Best Ski Helmets 2025/26 video, you already know the story. Helmet tech has moved on in a big way. You can now get lightweight all mountain lids with MIPS, KOROYD, hybrid shells and Boa fit systems at prices that used to buy you a basic rental style helmet.

This written guide follows the same price order as the video. It focuses on mid range and premium helmets. If your budget is under 100 pounds, head to our separate Best Budget Ski Helmets Under 100 Pounds video and article.

All helmets listed are certified for snow sports. What really matters is fit, comfort and the features that suit the way you ski.

How To Choose A Ski Helmet In 2025

Before we get into the models, a quick refresher:

  • Fit first
A snug, even fit without pressure points is more important than any feature. A proper adjustment system such as Boa, Sphere Fit, IAS or a 360 degree dial is worth paying for.

  • Rotational protection
Systems like MIPS or Kask’s WG11 tested designs are built to reduce rotational forces on the brain in angled impacts and are now common across mid to high level helmets.

  • Shell construction

    • In mold shells are light and ideal for resort skiing.

    • Hybrid shells combine ABS hard shell sections with in mold zones for extra durability where you are most likely to knock the helmet.

  • Ventilation
Adjustable vents are a big plus if you ski in mixed conditions or tend to run hot on the hill.

  • Extras
Eco materials, magnetic buckles, audio compatibility and premium liners are all nice touches that improve day to day use.

Now let us follow the video and go from most affordable to most premium.
