Our first look at this boot for 2026/27, based on the brand’s specs and fit information. We’ll add a full InTheSnow review once our testers have skied it. How we test.
If your winter is split between lift-served laps and the odd skin up for fresh tracks, you’ll know the compromise: a touring boot that skis like a slipper, or a downhill boot that walks like a brick. The women’s Atomic Hawx Ultra XTD 115 BOA W is built to do both.

How does it handle the uphill?
Atomic’s Free/Lock 4.5 is its most robust ski/walk mechanism. Flick one switch and the cuff is free for walking, with polymer bushings in the Frictionless Pivot for a natural stride. Lock it for the descent and you can set the forward lean at 13, 15 or 17 degrees. An asymmetric Energy Backbone reinforces the shell for powerful skiing on the way down.
What’s the fit like?
This is a women’s low-volume boot on a 98mm last, with Atomic’s Memory Fit shell and Mimic liner, both designed to be customised. The BOA system gives very fine midfoot adjustment for a snug, even wrap, and at 1,668g as listed it’s light for a 115 flex.
Our InTheSnow view
Hybrid boots have come a long way, and this one ticks the right boxes on paper: a usable walk mode, a properly supportive flex and a fit you can tweak on the go. The price reflects all of that, so it makes most sense if you’ll actually use the walk mode. If you never leave the piste, you’re paying for features you won’t need.
The InTheSnow verdict
A light, versatile women’s hybrid boot for skiers who want to earn some turns without giving up downhill performance.
