Free “Snow Strudel” With Every Six-Inch Snowfall

A ski resort in the USA is celebrating the snowy start to winter there by offering skiers and boarders what it calls “Snow Strudels” – homemade baked Austrian pastry dusted in powdered sugar and wrapped around bits of apple – if it snows six inches (15cm) or more during the previous 24 hours.

Cranmore Mountain Resort in North Conway, New Hampshire says it will hand out 100 of the free apple strudels from the summit Meister Hut to the resort’s season pass holders between 11am and noon after six-inch snowfalls right through to the end of the season.

Cranmore opened on Nov. 17, 2018, it’s earliest opening on record, and says the subsequent snowy start to the season has been “almost unprecedented.”
