The Chef’s Cup has become an annual feature of the ski calendar at gourmet cuisine Mecca in the mountains, Alta Badia, with the breathtaking backdrop of the Dolomites, a UNESCO world heritage site.

The event, this winter staged between 16th — 21st January 2011, unites chefs, with and without Michelin stars, restaurateurs, wine producers and personalities from the world of sport and culture to compete on the Gran Risa ski slopes of La Villa and as well as in the kitchens of the valley’s restaurants.

The Chef’s Cup was created by Norbert Niederkofler, the culinary genius behind the 2 Michelin Star St. Hubertus, at the five star Relais & Chateaux Rosa Alpina (+ 39 0471 849 500; www.rosalpina.it).

Guests can enjoy sampling new sophisticated products, themed lunches and dinners hosted by chefs from all over Italy and abroad, ski racing on one of the most famous slopes in the world, thrilling sports car test driving and a golf competition on the snow.

The Rosa Alpina offers a double room from £211 (€243) per person based on two adults sharing.
