Though some of us may be holding onto hope of a 20-21 ski holiday, it’s looking increasingly like the 21-22 ski season is going to be the next opportunity for most of us to hit the slopes. Holidays for next season are selling fast, so we thought we’d put together all the latest updates as we get them, so you’ve got the most information possible when it comes to booking your next ski trip.
Music Festivals Back for Winter 21-22
[Updated 1 Feb 2021]
The start of the pandemic in March 2020 led to the cancellation of a number of music festivals in the Alps. Most hoped to run in spring 2021 but had to be cancelled again as ski areas remained closed. So the 21-22 ski season will be the first staging for three years now of some festivals.
Here’s what we know so far:
Rise Festival, Les 2 Alpes – 11th – 18th December 2021.
Rise was one of the few festivals to happen in the 19-20 season as it is staged at the start of the season so was over even before the virus was starting to emerge in Wuhan. It was not so lucky in December 2020 as France banned large events. It has already published its dates for next winter: 11th – 18th December 2021.
Snowboxx, Avoriaz – 19th to 26th March, 2022.
After missing two years the organisers say they will return for a “truly epic week in the Alps” next winter and have already confirmed the dates: 19th to 26th of March, 2022.
Snowbombing, Mayrhofen, 4th to 9th April 2022
Alas the longest-running major music festival in the Alps, Snowbombing, announced at the end of January that it was forced to miss its second successive year due to pandemic restrictions. It did, however, immediately announce new days for 2022.
2021-22 Ski Holiday Deals
Travel companies are offering discounted deals for next winter much earlier than ever before. Some are on offer now but have to be booked by spring or summer 21 to take advantage of the saving offered (although, of course, they may offer more discounts nearer the time.). To find all the latest options in one place, we are constantly updating our latest deals section here.
If you are looking later in the season please note some deals are for spring 2021 (in the hope we’ll be able to travel again by then), some for spring 2022. It should be clear which are for which season.
