BRITS Return to Laax

Following a brief and unconvincing trial separation when the event hopped the border in to France, The Brits freestyle snowsport competition and festival will return to the Swiss resort of Laax next April.

The Brits (Official title: The British Snowboard and Freeski Championships) brings together everyone from seasoned pros, budding amateurs and first-timers. For years it has been pushing our professional athletes, whilst retaining an open-door policy for anyone wishing to give-it-a-go, and more recently for a growing number that just want more than a traditional winter holiday.

Laax has long been considered one of the best freestyle resorts on the planet with the world’s largest halfpipe and four dedicated snowparks, which cater for total beginners right through to the hordes of professional athletes that call it home.

During the week, riders have the chance to compete or spectate at the British Halfpipe, Slopestyle and Snowboard/Skiercross Championships, plus the more relaxed Bangers and Cash Rail Jam which highlights the street-riding talent emerging from our indoor and artificial slopes.

“I always remember such amazing times being young competing in LAAX – it’s such a great resort. It’s going to be an awesome event and so good for the up and coming talent from the UK!” said British star Jamie Nicholls, commenting on the move back to Laax.

The Brits will run from Sunday 3rd – Sunday 10th April and package deals are currently available www.the-brits.com
