It has been a mixed bag of weather in the Swiss Alps over the past week with some ski areas seeing regular snowfalls since the weekend which have now added up to two feet (60cm) of fresh cover (Saas Fee) in the last week, others not getting anything at all.
Here’s how Laax is looking where The BRITS are currently underway:

It is April and spring of course so the most snow is falling higher up, where it’s falling, and lower slopes are losing what cover remains fairly fast – in fact only a few Swiss resorts (Arosa and Verbier among them) say they have snow left in resort now.
Most Swiss resorts will stay open at least to Easter weekend and many later in to April and even some such as Glacier 3000 and Engelberg in to May, and there’s plenty of snow on upper runs to mean that’s not a problem. In fact Gstaad reports the deepest snow base in the world on its upper runs at nearly 5m.
The snowfall is expected to be similar this coming week to last with some resorts getting more snow, other nothing.
