Winter Olympian Chemmy Alcott and her husband, former British Champion Dougie Crawford are on the hunt for two 12-18 year old children to join a special training camp on the Hintertux Glacier in Austria this October.

The two lucky youngsters will have all their expenses covered on the trip, which is being funded by the same real estate investment, development and advisory company, Delancey, that is the leading sponsor of British Ski & Snowboard, the governing body of elite British snowsport.

The camp is being organised by Chemmy and Dougie’s company, CDC Performance, and will take place on the Hintertux glacier from 15th -22nd October.

Any 12-18 year old is welcome to apply for a place, by answering a few questions by email and supplying a character reference.  A shortlist will then be drawn up and those selected will have an interview by Skype with four Time Winter Olympian Chemmy before a final decision is made on who gets the place. Applicants need to move quickly though as the closing date for applications is Sunday 4th September.

CDC Performance is not just a ski training club and a ski race team but aims to teach individuals, especially young people, invaluable life skills and the organisers note that the two young people who win a place may not be the best at snowsports but will be those that show the best attitude and seem most likely to benefit most from the experience the camp will offer.

“We have been thrilled with the remarkable results achieved in our first year. What is extremely important to us is that these results are not only in terms of race podiums, but in the personal character building amongst our young members. This surpasses sole achievements made on the slopes, by helping to instil a new found confidence and self-belief, which flows through their life in general,” said Chemmy.

A further two places have been pre-allocated to Delancey’s charity partner, Snow-Camp, to the most deserving inner-city graduates.

“We are delighted to be a part of the fantastic work taking place at the CDC Performance camps. We believe our funding will help develop four very deserving applicants who are willing to learn and grow in their Snowsports journey. We wish all applicants the very best,” said Jamie Ritblat, founder and chairman of Delancey.

Potential candidates should email [email protected] for further information about the application processes. Skype interviews will then follow with Chemmy Alcott from 8th – 11th and the chosen four will be announced no later than Wednesday 14th September.
