Winter Glamping in Les Gets

For most people, the idea of winter camping in the Alps brings to mind images of howling winds, cramped tents and a very, very cold nights’ sleep. Glamping in the mountains of Les Gets, however… That’s something we can get behind! A cosy outdoor dome, wood burning stove and spectacular views of the night sky? Sign us right up.

This winter, Les Gets is launching a brand new ski holiday experience, Chambres d’hôtes Chéry Dôme, situated high above Les Gets in the hamlet of La Sarre. It’s glamping literally taken to new heights.

Designed to bring guests much closer to nature and the outdoor mountain environment, the accommodation is provided in the form of a unique dome construction, which can sleep between two and four people.

The dome is designed so you can watch the sky from your bed, falling asleep under the stars. It’s the perfect place to truly get away from it all and find a peaceful, mindful moment for yourself.

The dome includes all the luxuries you might need – a wood burning stove, toilet, electricity – even WiFi! What’s more, you’ll have exclusive use of this beautiful area, making you feel like you’re the only people on the mountain.

Les Gets is a superb, relaxed resort, with a local ski area that is relatively quiet, allowing you to enjoy the ambience of this spectacular mountain location. However, it also offers easy access to one of the world’s biggest ski areas, Les Portes du Soleil, which spans across a staggering 650km. There’s truly something for skiers of all abilities, from piste chargers to pure beginners.

Les Gets itself is highly recommended for families, with gentle local slopes, a huge range of off-slope activities and an authentic resort feel. This winter, the new Alta Lumina Park will provided another added adventure during the winter. A one kilometre trail through the forest, the Park will immerse visitors in an enchanted world of light and imagery.

This new concept is aimed at audiences of all ages and will operate year-round, part of the station’s 4-season diversification strategy. It’s the twelfth experience in an award-winning Lumina series from its Canadian designers, Moment Factory. Each of the experiences is designed specifically for its destination, making each one completely unique to the individual area’s DNA.
