Where Can I Still Ski in Europe?

The ski season may be winding down and most ski area have closed, but dozens of resorts with ski slopes up to high altitudes, or located at northerly latitudes in Scandinavia are still happy to welcome you to ski.  About 100 are currently still open, although half of these will close after the coming weekend.

Remarkably, conditions are some of the best they’ve been this season up high and up north, thanks to colder than average weather and plenty of natural snowfall in April. Some resorts have reported over a metre of fresh snow at 3,000m in the last week and Tignes is currently posting the deepest snowpack there’s been anywhere in Europe all winter – at 452cm (over 15 feet) on the Grande Motte glacier.

Another good reason to go skiing in the next month is that prices and down, the slopes uncrowded and resorts are saying on lots of fun, springtime events, to try to keep people skiing and snowboarding.

Here are some of the resorts staying open into May 2023 (please notes that dates can change)
