Eldora is Boulder’s backyard ski area, tucked into the Front Range above the small mountain town of Nederland. It is the closest big ski area to Boulder, about 21 miles away, and a favourite with locals for quick after-work laps and family days out. It won’t replace a week at one of the big resorts, but it is a handy, friendly extra day if you are staying in Boulder or Denver.

Eldora has introduced a range of Alpine Pass products aimed at families and newcomers, including a Family Unlimited option and a flexible 4-Pass. Eldora is also on the Ikon Pass, which makes it an easy add-on for anyone combining the Front Range with Winter Park, Copper or A-Basin.
The Skiing
Eldora has around 680 acres, with a good mix of groomed intermediate runs, a well-equipped learning area around the Little Hawk lift, and some steeper tree skiing for the more adventurous. It is also well known for its Nordic centre, with cross-country and snowshoe trails next to the alpine area.
Getting There
Eldora is around 21 miles west of Boulder and just over an hour from Denver. Public buses run from Boulder to the base in winter, and parking at busy times is managed, so check before you travel.
