Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) have unveiled the designs for the new Audemars Piguet Hôtel des Horlogers, including a ramp that allows you to ski down the roof.

Situated in the Vallée de Joux, Switzerland, this new hotel will be sat right next to a museum celebrating the world-famous watch manufacturer, the Musée Atelier Audemars Piguet, which is set to open in 2020.

The project involves replacing the current Hôtel des Horlogers with a new hotel of about fifty rooms, designed specifically for the luxury Swiss watch manufacturer Audemars Piguet.

Five ramps atop the Z-shaped building will make a gentle sloping path, which will lead directly to the museum and local cross-country ski trails of the Vallée de Joux. This unique design means that guests will be able to ski down the roof, accessing the ski trails in style. Opening in 2020, it’s sure to be a popular destination for stylish mountain-lovers.

Inside, a continuous sloping corridor will connect the rooms, while the hotel will also contain two restaurants, a bar, a spa and a conference centre. Constructed using local materials such as stone and wood from the region, the hotel will blend aesthetically with the surrounding area.
