Schönwieshütte awaits those wanting a little extra adventure with their winter lunch. Set away from the slopes, at 2,270 metres altitude, the sleek building can only be accessed by a short ski-doo transfer from the Steinmannbahn mountain station or by walking up there with snowshoes / skins.
If on skis or a snowboard, enjoy being pulled, gently, behind the ski doo along a winding, white lane, before arriving at the modern hut. Once there, order some delicious local cuisine and sit back, sipping a beer, while enjoying the spectacular views far from the maddening crowds.
Throughout the winter, the Schönwieshütte will be open from 09.30-16.30 every day, apart from Saturday. Light lunches cost from €5.60, while more hearty meals cost from €11.60.
