Visitors to the stunning Val di Fiemme ski area in Italy’s Trentino region will find two cool new generation ski lifts waiting for them this winter.
In the Bellamonte ski resort a new eco-friendly gondola has just begun operations, and in Obereggen the first telemix lift – combining chairs and gondola cabins on one lift cable – is also new this season.
The new environmentally friendly Bellamonte 3.0 Castelir-Morea gondola at Bellamonte-Alpe Lusia is seen as a new beginning for the area. The new lift replaces the two old chairlifts, meaning only 15 lift towers are now required, with 13 removed. The new gondola has a mid-station and a capacity of 2,200 people per hour using 10 passenger cabins; it is especially well adapted to carry children and disabled people (for whom the area has particularly good facilities), as well as everyone else.
The new telemix lift is just one of three major innovations in the Ski Center Latemar (48km of ski slopes accessible from Predazzo, Pampeago and Obereggen).
The telemix lift replaces a fixed-grip quad chairlift and has six-seater chairs and eight-seater cabins on the cable. Telemix guests who don’t want to ski can easily reach the brand new sledge trail Absam, which is 750m long, and the ski slope Laner will be further enlarged and improved in order to guarantee a relaxing and pleasant skiing and sledging experience.
Obereggen will also see a spectacular new snack bar built, with eco-sustainable materials including local wood and glass, above the Oberholz chairlift and with three terraces coming out of the mountains. The unique structure will be composed of a single body that will then divide into three large glass windows overlooking the surrounding mountains.
Thirdly, in Pampeago, along the Agnello track which goes through the art park RespirArt (one of the highest parks in the world), you’ll have the opportunity to admire new pieces of art realised during summer 2016 by internationally renowned artists.
