Our Kicking Horse Snow Report and Forecast 7 February 2018 kicks off with a video report from 28 January 2017, giving an insight into what conditions have been like over the last few weeks in the ‘Powder Highway’ area of British Columbia. A big thanks to Kicking Horse Powder Tours for this video.

There’s been a lot of snow in the area lately, with some fantastic skiing conditions on piste and even better off piste! 50cm in late January, plus another 40cm last week has meant that the powder skiing is great and with temperatures well below freezing, it’s sticking around. They’re up to 748cm of snow so far this season and we are sure they will hit that 750 mark soon! There are currently 129 runs open, so lots of skiing on offer to enjoy this great snow.

This week, Kicking Horse has also experienced its first year playing host to the Freeride World Tour, which has been an incredible contest. They have ended up hosting 2/5 FWT stages, after the Hakuba, Japan event had to be restaged due to safety concerns and low visibility.

Around 40cm is forecast to fall before by Friday, and the weekend should be absolutely fantastic for enjoying that fresh powder, with sunshine and clear skies on Saturday and Sunday. Light snow will reappear through Sunday night and will continue throughout next week, just keeping a light dusting on the slopes.
