This is our Nordica Navigator 85 2019 Ski Review from the SIGB Ski Test in Galtür, Austria.

A high quality intermediate ski, the Nordica Navigator 85 is a great choice for those who like to push themselves on piste, while also being able to play a little bit off piste. Nordica’s Navigator range has proved very popular amongst all mountain fans last season and the 85 fits in well as a ski that can tackle all terrains but really gives its best performance on piste.

On groomed runs, it has a smooth, stable feel, even at high speeds, with a good edge hold allowing you to feel confident in your abilities. With a lot of torsional strength, it enjoys longer radius turns and really allows you to carve your turns nicely. Through shorter, snappier turns it’s not quite as comfortable, but it’s a great ski to take at a moderate speed down hard pack and choppier snow.

With an 85mm waist, it is versatile enough to make it a great ski for someone who spends most of their time on piste, but is looking for one ski they can use across the mountain, wherever the wind may take them. It glides nicely across soft snow and powder, with an early rise tip giving it excellent manoeuvrability and responsiveness through powder as well as keeping it energetic through bumps and tree runs.
