The famous Freeride World Tour is a decade old in 2017 and has just announced where and when its spectacular competition will be taking place next winter.

The Swatch-sponsored tour reloads with a five-stop journey, once again featuring the world’s top riders competing on legendary competition faces from the Alps to Alaska.

The contest kicks off on January 28, 2017 at Chamonix with the world’s top riders facing off with a clean slate among the razor-sharp alpine needles of Mont Blanc Massif in the home of all that is extreme in ski and snowboard world.

A fortnight later on February 11th it’s down to the Pyrenees and Vallnord-Arcalis in Andorra where creativity and technical innovation will be the name of the game as riders attempt to solidify their strategies at the centre of the Pyrenean freeride capital straddling the frontier of Spain and France.

Three weeks further on its back to the alps but further east at Fieberbrunn in the Austrian Tirol on March 4th where pressure will be beginning to mount on competitors as the first cut is made with only the very finest riders of the first three stops qualifying for the penultimate contest of the 2017 tour in Alaska.

This takes place at Haines on March 17th when everyone will witness riders become their inner hero as they push their limits on the fantastically vast Alaskan terrain.

April 1st sees the grand final back in the Alps on the infamous, intimidating and mighty Bec des Rosses face above Verbier in Switzerland, which riders must ride and tame if they wish to be crowned world champion of the 2017 Swatch Freeride World Tour.
