2017 Fall

2017 Spartan World Championships | September 30 – October 1

The 2017 Spartan Race Series culminates at Squaw Valley in North Lake Tahoe for the annual World Championship event.  Racers and spectators travel from all over the world to be a part of the preeminent event of the obstacle racing season.  Racers will battle themselves, competitors, obstacles, and high elevation, in pursuit of glory.

 

2017/2018 Winter

Tahoe Film Fest | November 30 – December 3, North Lake Tahoe

North Lake Tahoe hosts the third annual Tahoe Film Fest offering a rare chance to view critically acclaimed cultural, environmental and international films. With a variety of award winning festivals and year-round events, North Lake Tahoe’s evergreen landscape is the perfect backdrop for the four-day film festival which also supports local non-profit, Sierra Watershed Education Partnership.

 

WinterWonderGrass Tahoe | April 6 – 8, Squaw Valley

After three consecutive sold out years, this festival brings back some of the finest ingredients of North Lake Tahoe lifestyle along with national, regional and local bluegrass and roots music artists to serve up an unforgettable three-day event. This unique outdoor music festival is the perfect place to soak in music with the breathtaking backdrop of snowy mountains and the star-filled California sky.

North Tahoe is home to an incredible lineup of free weekly events every Tuesday through Sunday night:

Tuesdays: Bluesdays at The Village at Squaw Valley & Retro Skate Nights at Northstar California

Wednesdays: Yoga Squaw’D at The Village at Squaw Valley

Thursdays: Free Outdoor Summer Movie Series

Fridays: Music on the Beach in Kings Beach

Saturdays: Music at Northstar California

Sundays: Concerts at Commons Beach & Music at Northstar California

 

Alpenglow Mountain Festival | June 16 – 24, North Lake Tahoe

The sixth-annual Alpenglow Mountain Festival will return with 50+ individual events scattered throughout North Lake Tahoe. A celebration of human-powered events that include clinics, presentations and more. Geared towards beginner and intermediate mountain sports enthusiasts, participants can experience epic trail running, hiking, yoga, SUP clinics, backpacking, rock climbing clinics, happy hour talks, and more.

 

Broken Arrow Skyrace | June 15 – 17, Squaw Valley

The three-day event, held at world-famous Squaw Valley, consists of three iconic distances showcasing the beauty of Lake Tahoe, the Jewel of the Sierra Nevada. Designed in the vein of the classic European Skyraces, the Broken Arrow Skyrace, a part of the 2018 Altra US Skyrunner Series, represents a unique style of mountain running characterized by off-trail scrambling on steep terrain with massive amounts of vertical gain and loss at altitude. Beerfest & Bluegrass Festival | July 6, The Village at Northstar California

For the 11th consecutive year, The Village at Northstar comes alive with al fresco jams and fresh brews at the Beerfest & Bluegrass Festival. This family-friendly event features live music across multiple stages, dozens of local and regional breweries, and special activities for kids. A Brewmaster’s Dinner is held on the evening of July 2, where Northstar California’s Executive Chef Steve Anderson artfully pairs five courses of seasonally inspired dishes with craft beers.

 

Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival | July & August, Sand Harbor Beach

Showcasing live entertainment seven nights a week at Sand Harbor, Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival’s will celebrate their 46th season during the summer of 2018.  This stunning venue is a favorite among visitors and locals alike.

 

Wanderlust Yoga Festival | July 19 – 22, Squaw Valley

This world-class wellness festival returns for its 9th year and brings together yoga-loving communities from all over the world to unplug, reconnect and experience the extraordinary. Wanderlust, a multi-day retreat, includes workshops in diverse yoga styles, top musical performers, farm-to-table dining, and a thought-provoking Speakeasy lecture series. Wanderlust takes place amid breathtaking scenery and is perfect for mindful adventurers.

 

Autumn Food & Wine Festival | September 7 – 9, Northstar California

The Lake Tahoe Autumn Food and Wine Festival is considered one of Lake Tahoe’s premier gourmet events. The 33rd annual festival combines premier local cuisine, renowned chefs and live cooking demonstrations in a full-sensory dining experience at Northstar California Resort. Enjoy three full days of cooking seminars and demonstrations, culinary competitions, wine tastings, a Farm to Tahoe dinner, live music, a gourmet marketplace, and more. Throughout the weekend, over twenty culinary events showcase immersive ways to experience fine food, wine, art and the natural landscape of North Lake Tahoe.
